Born For This Tee Story

As a new month has begun, that means time for a new Billboard Of Hope Tee!!! Today I want to share the behind the scenes of this shirt.

This design has been in the works since February. At our design weekend, Wendy (my amazing graphic designer) and I were sitting drinking coffee & flowing in ideas. I could see this month's design in my head. A cowgirl riding a bronc with the words “born for such a time as this” Esther 4:14.

I picked this month to release this design because August feels like a month we need to be reminded we are in the right place & time as we head back into school schedules, routines & changing seasons. We were born for this.

The full scripture says: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”” ‭‭Esther‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I love that! So much reassurance of being in the right place. As I started to dig into the story of Esther again, I noticed so many new things! I listened to it on my Bible app & boy it’s like a crazy movie! Betrayal, plotting, death, good verse evil. Wow! When I recounted the story to Joe he was like man that sure is eventful. I’d encourage you to read/listen to the full book & see what God is saying to you about Esther’s life! Here are the 3 things that stood out to me!

1. I guarantee you Esther’s life did not go according to the plan she had!!! Oh man how I can relate to that!! Can you? She had disappointment, lost of loved ones, different living circumstances, her daily life being completely changed in an instant (#momlife right?) The circumstances are very different now than in that culture but the feeling is the same.

2. She was being asked to do something she didn’t think she could do! The task felt bigger than her. I mean she could have been killed!!! To go before the king without being asked & if he didn’t say yes come in she would have been killed! Wow! There are some days I get overwhelmed by simple tasks, let alone being asked to save an entire nation. We all have different things that God is asking us to do we feel are too big but Esther’s example of walking by faith can be such an encouragement. Which leads me to number 3. 3. She trusted & sought after God! After Mordecai said in Esther 4:14 that who knows that she was born for this time (paraphrasing) the next

3. Verses are so good & telling of her trust in God! She asks all her people to fast with & for her then she would go to the king. Fasting is a time to pray & seeking God. She went to Him! She didn’t go to her advisors first but to the one who gives strength, peace and hope! I believe this is what tipped the scales in her favor. In her obedience, God made a way!

I want to be like Esther! I want to know that God has called me for the time I’m living in right now. That even when there are plot twists in my own story, I will trust & seek after God! When I wear this shirt I want to remember the lessons God has showed me from her story.

I pray this encourages your heart & helps you remember YOU were BORN for such a time as this!!!!
